It’s no secret that Emma Watson often aligns herself with important social issues. When she’s not slaying on the big screen, she’s often participating in philanthropic endeavors.Recently, she decided to wear her heart on her sleeve (quite literally) by sporting a massive Time’s Up tattoo, but there was one problem…

Emma Watson AKA Hermione Freakin’ Granger showed up to the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party with a huge Time’s Up tattoo on her forearm.

And of course, people were rattled.A lot of fans thought the tattoo was real, and while Emma Watson can do whatever she wants to with her body, it still caught them totally off guard.

We know that Emma Watson isn’t actually Hermione Granger, but we can’t help but think of her that way.

Many of us grew up watching the Harry Potter movies, and while the whole cast is wildly talented, it’s often hard to separate them from the characters they played for 10 years.

Fans with a knowledge of tattoos were quick to point out that Emma’s new ink was obviously temporary.

The outline of the temporary tattoo is super noticeable once it’s pointed out.We still love Emma for unabashedly supporting Time’s Up yet again on the red carpet.

Once the initial shock wore off, people began noticing that something else was off about the tat.

Emma’s temporary tattoo had a punctuation error! Excuse me, but Hermione would never! The apostrophe in “Time’s Up” was noticeably absent from Emma’s new ink.

Of course, people couldn’t help but make tons of jokes about how Hermione never would have made this kind of mistake.

I feel like it’s pretty unlikely that Emma Watson designed this tattoo herself, but okay.

Obviously, the punctuation error was a harmless mistake.

But of course, countless internet trolls attacked her for everything from her intelligence, all the way to her political beliefs. The internet really sucks sometimes.

Emma Watson is one of the most poised, brilliant, and talented actresses around, and this tiny flub doesn’t change that.

Emma is a staunch supporter of education for girls, literacy, feminism, and was even named a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador.

It’s annoying that some people were more concerned with trying to tear Emma down for a tiny error, rather than focusing on her message.

Her choice to support Time’s Up so publicly is brave, and we are grateful for that.

I get that everyone online is a grammar expert, but if that’s really what you’re choosing to focus on here, then you’ve completely missed the point.

Watson has championed gender equality for years.Earlier this year, she brought activist Marai Larasi as her date to the Golden Globes, and also wore black to show solidarity with Time’s Up.

“There is no question that #TimesUp should be and will be a global movement,” wrote Watson on Instagram in January.

“A movement that is defined and led by those affected by the problem, not by those in power,” she added.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, she posted a picture of herself rocking this amazing jacket.

The back reads “Girls just wanna have fundamental human rights,” and we need to know where we can get our hands on one.

But because Emma Watson can’t catch a break, fans found one more thing in her red carpet look to drag her for.

Ya’ll are ruthless.Emma Watson’s new haircut also stirred up some strong opinions, and it even distracted people from her temporary tattoo altogether.

To be quite honest, I think we have all ended up with unfortunately short bangs by cutting them ourselves at least once.

Twitter | @buterakoshy
It’s a rite of passage, really. We’ve all looked in the mirror and thought, “I can totally cut my own hair.”

However, when most of us cut our own bangs, we don’t look anywhere near as stylish as Emma Watson did on the Oscars red carpet.

This might be a controversial opinion, but Emma was rocking that fringe.

So whether it’s tattoos or haircuts, let’s stop criticizing women for their beauty choices.

A woman’s appearance does not define her value. Emma Watson is a rock star, and I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Emma, of course, responded to the controversy in the best possible way.

We can now add hilarious to the list of things that make Emma Watson so great. We can’t help but love a queen who isn’t afraid to laugh at herself. What do you think about Emma’s temporary that? Comment and let us know, and TAG a friend who loves Emma Watson.
