Celebrity weight-loss transformations of 2019 – including Adele and Simon Cowell


This year has seen a number of famous faces focusing on their physiques and unveiling impressive new looks.

Some have ditched unhealthy foods, tried out new ways to work up a sweat and others have turned to some unconventional tricks to lose the inches.

From hitmakers to reality TV star here is a look at the most dramatic celebrity body transformations of 2019.

Adele

Adele has undergone an incredible transformation this year, losing an incredible three stone in just six months after overhauling her lifestyle.

The Chasing Pavements singer, 31, unveiled the results when rocked up to Drake’s birthday bash in October.

Turning heads in a low-cut form-fitting gown the London native oozed confidence as she showcased her toned frame.

Adele is believed to have lost more than two stone, reportedly due to The Sirtfood Diet, which sees slimmers fill up on plant-based foods like kale, buckwheat, green tea and tumeric.

The foods are known as sirtuin activators, and are said to control the way the body processes fat and sugar and regulate the appetite in the process.

Then this year she began hitting the gym more often, with a source telling PEOPLE: “After Adele started working out, she never looked back.”

They added: “She was instantly a changed person with a different mindset.”

Adele reportedly has regular personal trainer sessions and pilate classes, as well as enjoying a Stairmaster-like class called Rise Nation.

Music mogul Simon Cowell has ditched his unhealthy diet for a vegan lifestyle and hours in the gym.

The X Factor judge, 60, has shed and impressive one and a half stone over the past 12 months.

He’s so dedicated to his fit frame that lifts weights and keeps a set of push-up bars backstage whenever he’s filming one of his TV shows so he can get pumped even when he’s at work.

His secret work-outs were revealed by his Britain’s Got Talent co-star Amanda Holden during an appearance on Jenni Falconer’s RunPod podcast.

She told how Simon has a great upper body after he pumps iron in the BGT toilets.

Simon decided to start losing weight when he was hospitalised after fainting due to low blood pressure .

He went to see a specialist who advised him to give up meat and dairy.

Speaking in an interview with Extra, Simon explained: “I went to see this guy who’s very well-known. And he said to me, after doing some blood work, ‘You can’t have red meat, dairy, sugar, bread or gluten.’”

However, despite all his healthy changes, Simon is said to have refused to give up smoking after previously falling off the wagon while trying to quit.
